The department also provides admission of patients for whom this is the first inpatient psychiatric treatment and requires expanded initial diagnostic treatment. Those patients have sufficient cognitive-mnestic abilities for an early inclusion in the rehabilitation program and do not require intensive psychiatric care and supervision.
Today, the department is equipped to diagnose and treat people with the following diagnoses:
- mood disorders
- stress-related disorders and reactive mental states
- neurotic and somatoform disorders
- mild cognitive impairment
- adult personality and behavior disorders
Personnel included in the treatment program involves a multidisciplinary team consisting of specialists in psychiatry, internal medicine, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, a Master of Nursing, a psychologist, a speech therapist, a social pedagogue, an occupational therapist, a nutritionist, and a social worker.
The focus is on implementation of an individualized rehabilitation treatment program determined by the multidisciplinary team after they were given the insight into the medical documentation and after the initial interview with the patient has been conducted.
Upon admission, the team carries out an initial psychiatric, internist, neurological, psychiatric, and psychological assessment. In agreement with the patient, the therapeutic goal is agreed upon. An assessment and a prognosis of treatment outcomes are also made. In the initial part of the treatment, routine laboratory, and internal diagnostics according to medical indications, psychodiagnostics, occupational therapy assessment and pharmacotherapeutic plan are carried out.
Each patient receives a record with an individualized treatment plan where the terms of rehabilitation programs are entered and a record table of attendance at programs is made.
The course of treatment is monitored by weekly visits of a multidisciplinary team.
For the patient to access the treatment, it is necessary to send an email to the address of our institution with a request for treatment, a scan of medical documentation from previous treatments, and a description of current problems. The enquiry will be reviewed by the team members, assessing the patient's access to treatment, followed by informing the patient of the decision. If confirmed, the patient will be provided with the proposed date of admission. Access to the treatment can also be made with an appropriate referral for hospital treatment issued by a family doctor.
