Ultrasound Diagnostics Clinic

Ultrasound Diagnostics Clinic

We provide several types of examinations at our ultrasound clinic. Ultrasound diagnostics is irreplaceable in today’s medicine due to its non-invasiveness, painlessness, and lack of radiation. It is an easily accessible method enabling timely diagnostics and continuous monitoring of our patients. The ultrasound device creates an image by detecting reflected ultrasound waves passing through different tissues.

The working hours of the clinic are on weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM on weekdays.

ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

The transthoracic echocardiography or ultrasound of the heart is a non-invasive imaging diagnostic method that provides detailed information on the heart structure, heart muscle, heart valves, blood flows through heart chambers and heart valves, and the ascending aorta. There are numerous indications for the examinations, and most often they include chest pain, heart murmur, heart rhythm disturbance, loss of consciousness, arterial hypertension, some systemic diseases or family history of heart diseases, exposure to great physical exertion (athletes)...

The patient has to undress the upper part of the body and lie on their side during the examination. Electrodes that record the heart rhythm are placed on the torso, and the doctor will examine the heart from several projections with a probe resting on the chest.

No preparation is required for the examination, although no body creams should be applied before it. The examination takes 30 to 60 minutes, and you will get the result immediately after it is done. It is very useful to bring previous echocardiographic results to the examination.

ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound Diagnostics Clinic

The abdominal ultrasound is non-invasive, safe, and can be repeated frequently, making it one of the most widely used diagnostic techniques. Abdominal ultrasound examines the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands and blood vessels in the abdomen (abdominal aorta and its branches). The visualization of the stomach and intestines is somewhat difficult due to the naturally present air, thus other endoscopic examinations such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy are better for this. However, in some cases, it is possible to see some of the pathologies.

The doctor will refer you to an abdominal ultrasound if you have any abdominal pain, increase in abdominal girth, suffer from arterial hypertension, or have raised inflammatory markers or some other blood test abnormalities. Abdominal ultrasound can diagnose numerous pathological conditions (cirrhosis, cholecystitis, cholecystolithiasis, nephrolithiasis, cysts on the kidneys, liver or pancreas, pancreatitis, abdominal aortic dissection, splenomegaly, ascites, etc.).

The abdominal ultrasound is performed in a lying position with an ultrasound probe, and different areas of the abdomen are coated with ultrasound gel. It is necessary to prepare for the examination. You should come on an empty stomach and with a full bladder. Pills can be taken with a glass of water or tea, while milk should not be drunk. You should not eat for at least six to eight hours before the examination, and the day before it you should avoid foods that cause bloating (beans, cabbage, dairy products, carbonated drinks, fried food...) because air in the intestines and undigested food hinder a quality examination. Body creams should not be used before the examination. The examination lasts 15 to 30 minutes, with results readily available after it.

COLOR DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHY OF THE LOWER EXTREMITY ARTERIES AND VEINS

The examination is performed in a lying position with an ultrasound probe; in order to examine hard-to-reach areas, it is necessary to remove pants, socks and shoes. No special preparation is required for the examination, but no body creams should be applied before the examination. The examination takes 20 to 40 minutes.

ULTRASOUND OF THE THYROID GLAND / CAROTID COLOR DOPPLER

The examination is performed in a lying position using an ultrasonic probe; the slightly extended neck can be coated with contact gel. No special preparation is required for the examination, but no body creams should be applied before the examination. The examination takes 15 minutes.

ULTRASOUND OF LYMPH NODES (NECK, ARMPIT, GROIN)

The examination is performed in a lying position using an ultrasound probe and the specified region (neck, armpit or groin) is coated with ultrasound gel. The examination takes 15 minutes.
